Chip on screen M1 Air

Original posterSlight rant.I purchased my M1 air a year ago from now. Great, speedy machine as you all know. But, I have had issues with the LCD being easily damaged compared to other laptops I've owned.5 months ago, apparently something got caught in between the keyboard and screen and cracked the whole thing. Spent $500 for the repair due to no Apple Care. (outside insurance covered $400 of the cost thankfully)Fast forward to today, as I am cleaning the screen I notice that there is a bit of dust or a crumb that will not be removed. Turns out its a chip mark on the screen, apparently caused by some unknown object again. Keep in mind I try to ensure that the keyboard is completely clear before closing the device as part of the lesson before. Yet the crap still happened. Especially frustrating considering the price I've paid for the device and the fact that I had none of these issues during the 6 year stint with my previous Macbook roMy usage is not out the norm. I use the thing sometimes at work, and sometimes at home. In a backpack laptop slot while being transported. Despite that its till getting torn up.I realize one has to be very careful with expensive devices. But, I dont have much faith that this thing's screen will last past a few years of typical use due to the extremely tight clearances when closed. At this point, I am wondering if the M1 ro line has the same anemic space in between the LCD and keyboard. If not it might be a good excuse to blow more cash 😫
