Huawei launches smart office products in Europe as smartphone sales suffer setback - Global Times

Huawei has launched seven smart office products at the Huawei Spring 2022 Smart Office Launch event on Sunday in Barcelona, Spain, as the Chinese tech giant is seeking new growth points amid withering sales due to the years-long US ban.The new products include its latest flagship laptop, MateBook X Pro, its first all-in-one PC MateStation X, a new 2-in-1 laptop Matebook E, its first E-Ink tablet MatePad Paper, a new HarmonyOS tablet, MatePad, its first-ever printer PixLab X1, and a new portable speaker, Sound Joy.Huawei's MatePad Paper stands out as the company's first e-reader device that features a 10.3-inch display and is viewed by some as a rival to Amazon's Kindle. Also introduced is the company's "Super Device" system that allows users to seamlessly drag icons from all their Huawei devices onto their PC which will serve as a central hub. Yu Chengdong, CEO of Huawei's consumer business, said during the launch event that full-scenario smart life is the long-term strategy of Huawei's consumer business for the next five to 10 years. Observers told the Global Times that the move, which comes just ahead of the Mobile World Congress 2022 (MWC 2022), is also an indication of Huawei's stick to European market despite challenges and uncertainties are mounting in the region. About 50 Chinese companies, including Huawei and ZTE, will attend MWC 2022 that kicks off on Monday in Barcelona and runs through Thursday. According to the event's agenda, senior executives of the firm will also attend several seminars to discuss topics ranging from 5G businesses, green development, and digital IT.Yu also revealed during the event that the number of developers accessing Huawei's HMS service ecosystem, its substitute to Google's Gmail services, has exceeded 5.4 million, and Huawei's AppGallery has 580 million monthly active users.RELATED ARTICLES Huawei distributes 50b yuan dividends to staff shareholders: reports
